Commission Procedures

Portrait painting requires a certain amount of trust and close collaboration between the artist, the client and the subject. I require a frank and throrough discussion between myself and any potential client about the commission project. A clear understanding of what is expected for the commission in order to create a memorable portrait which meets the client’s expectation. We will discuss the subject and the general vision of the work with regard to size, placement, and background. I would be given reference photos or take my own of the subject. A contract is presented and agreed upon and thereafter a 50% deposit is made to begin work on the commission.

ACRYLIC PORTRAITS

Base prices:

Standard portraits (16×20″) :
1 person (head & shoulders) – acrylic paint on canvas board = $300

1 person (half figure: 24×32″) – $350

1 animal – acrylic paint on canvas board = $200

Each additional person/animal = $25

COLORED PENCIL PORTRAITS

Base prices:

Standard portraits (16×20″) :
1 person (head & shoulders) – colored pencil on Bristol or Mat board = $200

1 person (half figure: 24×32″) – $300

1 animal -colored pencil = $150

Each additional person/animal = $25

~The artist will provide an unframed portrait(s) in colored pencil to the client.
~ A 50% non-refundable deposit is required when details of the portrait are agreed upon.
~ Full Payment is due upon completion of portrait.
~The artist’s work is excluded from any warranty conditions should the portrait be exposed to harmful sunlight, weather or otherwise damaging environment.
~The portrait does not become the collector’s property until it is completed and paid in full.
~Framing, travel expenses and packaging/shipping costs are additional.
~The entire process of creating the portrait, from initial discussion to delivery, will require one to three months.
